DFAT advice for Oman
When travelling to Oman, you should always get travel insurance in case the worst happens. To help you ensure you travel safely, we have included the travel advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for Oman.

This advice has been reviewed and reissued. It contains new information in the Summary and under Safety and Security: Terrorism (exercise caution) and Local Laws (family law). The overall level of the advice has been lowered and we now advise Australians to exercise caution in Oman.

Summary
- We advise you to exercise caution and monitor developments that might affect your safety in Oman because of the risk of terrorist attack.
- Pay close attention to your personal security and monitor the media for information about possible new safety or security risks.
- Statements by international terrorist groups have called for attacks against Western interests in the Gulf region. We continue to receive reports that terrorists are planning attacks against a range of targets in the region.
- Australia does not have an Embassy or Consulate in Oman. The Australian Embassy in Saudi Arabia provides consular assistance to Australians in Oman.
- Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 has spread throughout the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) provides useful information for individuals and travellers on its website.
