Whether you're on a budget, or looking for a luxury
break with the kids, our
top 5 guide to kid-friendly destinations
has something for everyone, in all parts of the world. Our
first rule for travelling with kids? It's best to go
somewhere warm rather than cold…
1. Fiji
If you're looking for some serious relaxation time,
both with and away from the kids, then Fiji is heaven on
earth. Most resorts have kids clubs, and nannies that cost
just $5 an hour. So you can enjoy some 'me'
time, as well as family fun exploring coral reefs, splashing
around in the pool, and building sandcastles.
2. Great Barrier Reef
A little closer to home, this tropical holiday paradise
ticks all the right boxes. Short flights, great weather,
kid-friendly adventures in and out of the water… look
for all-inclusive deals where kids stay and eat free, and
you'll have the perfect low-cost family break.
Hamilton Island, Port Douglas and Club Med on Lindeman
Island are always popular – but if you want to get up
close and personal with Nemo, then head for Heron Island,
Australia's only coral cay island.
3. France
You'll be surprised by how kid-friendly Paris is.
Parks, museums and boat trips along the Seine will keep them
entertained, and it's easy to get around on the metro
(which transport-mad boys will adore). Or, you can try a 5
day guided family cycling tour through the Loire Valley
– they'll provide kids bikes and bike trailers,
and send your luggage onto your next destination.
4. Viva Las Vegas
Head to America's west coast for the adventure park
that appeals to kids of all ages. There's plenty of
kid-friendly fun in Vegas, plus it's a great place to
burn off the jet-lag (there's always something to do
at 2am!). Then pop over to Anaheim for Disneyland magic.
5. Singapore
If you're looking for a safe but exciting family
holiday in Asia, then try Sentosa Island in Singapore. Just
a short cable car ride (or bus shuttle) from the big city,
it has sandy beaches, and plenty of swimming pools and
kid-friendly restaurants. Kids will enjoy the cultural
experience of seeing Little India, Buddhist temples and
noodle markets, and a night-safari through the world-famous
Singapore Zoo is a must-do.
Wherever you decide to take the family, make sure
you've got family travel insurance. When you know
you're covered for all situations, you can relax and
enjoy seeing the world through their eyes.
