  • 1Cover has made a strategic business decision to no longer offer Home and Motor Insurance, focusing instead on our core offerings.

  • What will happen to my existing 1Cover insurance from 6th June 2018?
  • Your existing 1Cover policy is underwritten by Auto & General Insurance Company Limited (“the Insurer”). Your policy and any claims will continue to be administered by Auto & General Services Pty Ltd (“Auto & General”) until it becomes due for renewal at the end of its 12 month cover period. At this time, if you wish to renew your policy, you will be transitioned to an Auto & General insurance policy. For more information on Auto & General please click here.

  • What Happens If I Don't Provide Full Information About My Driving Record, Past Accidents Or Claims When I Am Asked?
  • This is called non-disclosure and affects an insurer's ability to accurately assess your risk or calculate the correct premium. It can lead to a claim being paid only in part, or not paid at all, and/or your policy being cancelled.

  • What Personal Effects Are Associated With Car Insurance?
  • Personal effects are your personal belongings that are in your car at the time of an accident. With 1Cover Comprehensive Car Insurance, you will have cover for damage to your personal effects resulting from a collision involving your car. Limits do apply. 

  • Can I Adjust My Car Insurance Premium?
  • You have the option to tailor your policy. You can restrict drivers by age, which will reduce the level of perceived risk, therefore lowering the premium you need to pay. If you are a good driver and your vehicle insurer has all the right information and is evaluating your risk level effectively, you shouldn't have to pay exorbitant prices. You can also remove the excess on your policy which will increase your premium, or increase the excess on your policy which will lower your premium. 

  • What If I Have To Make A Car Insurance Claim?

  • Who Underwrites 1Cover Car Insurance?
  • 1Cover Car Insurance policies are underwritten by Auto & General Insurance Company. Auto & General Insurance Company is an Australian incorporated general insurer that has a long-term commitment to the Australian marketplace.

  • What Does Third Party, Fire And Theft Car Insurance Cover?
  • Third party property damage fire and theft (TPFT) covers the insured's vehicle for loss of damage caused by fire or theft. TPFT cover will also pay the reasonable cost of recovery, towing and storage of the vehicle if it was unsafe to drive as a result of the damage. TPFT also covers the insured's legal liability for accidental loss or damage caused by the use of the car. The maximum amount that will be paid for the total of all liability claims against us arising from one event, is $20 million.

  • What Are The Benefits Of Third Party, Fire and Theft Coverage?
  • Legal costs ($20 million), substitute vehicle and uninsured motorist damage. Following the event of fire or theft, your towing costs will be paid. As far as protection goes, we will cover your damage up to $3000 or the market value of your car, whichever is lesser.
