FAQs About domestic Travel Insurance

  • Is There An Excess On My Domestic Travel Insurance?
  • There is a $200 excess that is applicable per event per claim on the Domestic plan.

  • Am I Covered On A Domestic Policy If I Am Travelling On A Cruise Liner Within Australian Waters?
  • No. If you are travelling in Australian waters on a cruise liner you will need to purchase our Cruise Pack add-on with your policy, selecting 'Australia Cruise' for your region. This will ensure you are covered for emergency medical assistance and emergency medical and hospital cover, cancellations, missed departure and more. See our Cruise Travel Insurance page for more information.

  • Do I Need Rental Vehicle Insurance If My Travel Insurance Covers Rental Vehicle Excess?
  • Please be aware the rental vehicle excess benefit does not take the place of Rental Vehicle insurance. You have provision to claim for a reimbursement of up to $5,000 (unless you have opted to increase your excess) for any excess or deductible which you become legally liable to pay under your Rental Vehicle hiring agreement, if the Rental Vehicle is involved in an accident while you are driving, or is damaged or stolen while in your custody.
