We have used 1Cover for many years now and do not leave home without it. Great service, exceptional if you make a claim. Only insurer I would recommend.

My husband required emergency surgery in the USA. There was no expense spared with either the medical costs (considerable) or our accommodation. We cannot speak highly enough of 1Cover and have recommended them to all our friends.

Found this company the best for insurance prior to Covid and especially now that travel has restarted. We had multiple credit vouchers that they have honoured with not problems. Thank you 1Cover for your great service.

You never know how good insurance is until you have to make a claim! 1Cover responded to us in their prescribed timeframe and our payout was made within 15 days. I would recommend them 100%. This is the seventh time we have used them and first time we had to claim. Well done!

No, there is no cover for cancellation costs or additional costs incurred because of Coronavirus (COVID-19). 1Cover policies purchased prior to 19th November 2021 have a general exclusion that excludes cover for any claims related to an epidemic or pandemic.
1Cover policies purchased after 19th November 2021 offer overseas medical coverage if you test positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) and require medical treatment while overseas.
At this time we do not cover any cancellation costs or additional costs incurred because of Coronavirus (COVID-19). We recommend that you contact your travel providers (your airline, transport and accommodation providers) to find out what terms and conditions may apply to you.

In the first instance, you should contact the airline to see if any alternate arrangement can be made or if any compensation may be offered. You should retain any documentation provided by the airline or receipts for any out-of-pocket expenses which you may incur as a result of the delay or cancellation so that you can submit them should you need to make a claim. We do not cover for cancellation, delays or rescheduling which are at the fault of the airline as the responsibility falls on the transport provider to supply you with the services you have paid them for. Please see more information about travel insurance and cancellation cover.
We will reimburse you up to $250 if any items of your Luggage & Personal Effects are delayed, misdirected or misplaced by a carrier for more than 12 hours. We do not cover for any loss or damage to items after you have checked them into the hold and until you have collected them again from the luggage conveyor as the transport carrier is at fault for their loss or damage and you should seek compensation from them. See more information about luggage cover.
If you're travelling internationally, 1Cover offers Emergency Medical Assistance anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. If you’re sick or injured, we advise that you or a member of your travelling party call our medical assistance team as soon as possible.
For minor ailments, such as those that only require a GP visit, you may choose to visit a doctor, pay for your visit upfront, and then submit your claim either from overseas or once you return home. Make sure that you keep all receipts and reports from your treating doctor, including the diagnosis and treatment notes and any other documents.
There are certain things you will need to be aware of in terms of your travel insurance if you're riding a scooter, moped or motorcycle overseas. Find out everything you need to know here.
If you need to cancel your trip, notify any travel providers (airlines, accomodation, tour providers, etc) of your intention to cancel.
Make sure you check whether your travel providers will refund you. Sometimes, they will return deposits, fares, etc., depending on when you cancel and what your original contract states.
If you aren’t reimbursed, then check the certificate of insurance and the PDS to see whether your circumstances are covered.
Once you have done this, and you intend to claim, you’ll need to obtain and supply confirmations, refund advices, and terms and conditions. We request these for lodgement of your claim.
A theft while you’re away is incredibly unsettling, but to substantiate your claim, you’ll need to report the theft to the police or nearest local authority within 24 hours of the incident and obtain a written report that can to be used as supporting documents.
Make sure that the police report you obtain is an official one, and that all the items that have been stolen are clearly detailed. You’ll also need to capture the circumstances surrounding the event. Remember, the more information on the report, the better.
When you submit your claim, you’ll also need to provide proof of purchase and/or ownership in relation to the stolen items.

Each year hundreds of young Australian's are injured or worse from motorbike and scooter related incidents overseas.
1Cover customer Jordon Hunt knows this all too well. On the last day of her Balinese holiday she got on the back of a scooter and the next thing she remembers is a four-wheel drive coming straight towards her at 70 km/h.
Waking up in hospital she had broken her leg and was going to require emergency surgery.
Luckily for Jordon she was covered by 1Cover. Her expenses came to more than $48,000, but her travel insurance policy only cost her $70.
