We have used 1 Cover for our travel insurance for the last five years and have been very satisfied with it. The process is user friendly, the product provides comprehensive cover and it gives good value for money.

feedback to date on claim

We have used 1Cover for our travel insurance for many years now as on the face of it the cover looks like good value (until you make a claim). However, on our last holiday in June/July 2018 we had to make our first ever claim as my wife's handbag was stolen. We went to the local Police & had to spend half a day to make our statement to Police. We then started the claim process. The claim is still in process & the process seems to be a continuation of what can be sometimes unreasonable requests for receipts & questions, that just seem to keep on coming. I am not sure how long the process will take or if we will get anything back from our insurance cover, but it will certainly make me think twice about who I use for our next travel insurance cover.

As usual I had no need to make a claim but I am confident that if the need arose the process would be simple and easy to complete

Your travel insurance is very competitive and we have been using your brand for years. as we get older it is getting very expensive. Maybe 1Cover can consider a discount for their valued customers.

Called on holiday requesting further details on coverage and claims, no help given on call line. Tried their best to help however seemed like they didn’t know exactly how to help or explain things. Friendly

Domestic Travel (Australia) Insurance Purchased.

I purchased Domestic Travel (Australia). I did not have to make a claim, therefore, I gave my money on a chance that something negative could happen to me, to my travel arrangements &/or my luggage; however, it did not. Purchasing any insurance is like any other gamble / game of chance taken.

So quick and easy

My claim was approved in less than 24 hours and 2 days later the money was in my account. Brilliant.

Would book again

Have used 1Cover before and I’ll keep using them. This time I went to Bali and while I didn’t need the insurance, THANK GOD 1Cover sends you texts and emails asking if you want to extend your insurance - it was because of their message that I look at the details and realised I had only covered 4 days instead of the 10 days my trip was for! So in a few minutes, on my phone, in a restaurant in busy avail, I was able to easily extend the cover with no hassles!

1Cover unaware of policy holders requests. Not impressed.

Rang to cancel insurance unable to transfer dates. Found 1Cover didn't acknowledge cancellation. Received email from 1Cover regarding our holiday..not impressed.

Train travel cancellation in Canada.

We were unlucky enough to have our first day of travel on the Rocky Mountaineer train in Canada cancelled by a one day rail strike. 1Cover were able to reimburse much of the costs.

So easy to do online

Excellent cover for a short break. Hassle free less than 5 minutes to sort out. Excellent benefits if you do have to make a claim compared to some.

Easy to take out cover

We didn’t need to claim but the process to apply for insurance was simple and a certificate was emailed to us.

Specify $value limits in your acceptance letter

My ratings are only generic, as I had no need to claim or anything else, so I just picked 8 for first question generically, 8 for second question as a fair assessment across competitors, and 8 for third question genetically so as not to drag down overall rating with no claims experience. One thing was a pain for me, you don't specify the actual dollar limits of coverage in your confirmation letter, and that is exactly what I must provide when applying for a visa! So I had to separately try and convince the visa people of this, as they specifically set minimum dollar limits you must be covered for to be approved for your visa....generic supporting documentation of your conditions is not specific enough for visa authority, (for some countries) it must be specifically stated in your insurance acceptance letter.
