  • What destinations are included in UAE? 
  • The UAE is made up of 7 states; Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. If you are travelling to any of these destinations you should enter United Arab Emirates as your destination.

  • What activities are covered in dubai?

  • Is dubai and the uAE safe to visit?
  • While crime rates are generally low in Dubai and across the UAE it is important to consider safety when visiting this region. Smartraveller currently recommends exercising a high degree of caution in the UAE. Remain aware of Smartraveller advice and any travel alerts for this region.

  • Is terrorism covered in UAE?
  • In the event of a terrorist attack or political unrest, there is no cover for cancellation fees and lost deposits, disruption of journey or alternative transport expenses. However cover is available for all necessary medical/hospital expenses, including the cost of bringing you back to your home.

  • am i covered for drugs or alcohol in dubai?
  • If it is deemed that drug or alcohol use could have been a contributing factor to your claim you will most likely not be covered. Our policy states that any claim arising from being intoxicated, addicted or under the influence of liquor or drugs, except those prescribed by a Medical Adviser, will not be covered.   • are there rules for tourists in the uAE? 
  • The states which make up the UAE are conservative societies, to varying degrees. Ensure you are aware of local customs and regulations in the state which you are visiting, you are subject to these even as a tourist. Generally speaking, modest dress is advised, and public intoxication is illegal.

  • Do you need a visa for uAE? 
  • Yes, Australian citizens can visit the UAE for up to 30 days with a tourist visa.This is issued free of charge upon arrival in the UAE. If you are planning on staying longer than this or travelling for non-leisure purposes, other visas will need to be obtained. Read more here

  • Do you need to be vaccinated to go to dubai?

  • I'm living in dubai. can i buy travel insurance?
  • Travel Insurance policies are not valid if you have moved to another country such as Dubai and you are now living there. However if you are planning a longer stay in Dubai our policies cover you up to 12 months in duration.
