I found the process of buying the policy easy and communication helpful. Thankfully we did not have to use this insurance. A welcome home email was most welcome. We will use this company again. On saying this, it takes a claim to really know a company.

My husband and I traveled to Portugal to visit our son with the intention from the outset that I would stay longer returning a month later.
As such we had 2 different return dates.
When I extended my stay a further 3 weeks I notified ICover who charged me to extend my policy-perfectly acceptable- but when I asked why it was so expensive almost the cost of the initial coverage they said it included my husband even though he was already back in Australia.
When I challenged the ludicrousness of this the response was that he was on my policy and need to be covered.
When I asked if there were any problems splitting the return dates I was not informed about this prior to our travel. Clearly from the information I provided from the outset we were going to be needing two different covers.
Consequently I feel that you omitted critical information to provide misinformation and I will be contacting Consumer Affairs and reporting ICover.

I travel many times a year and you never know what can happen on your trip, over the past 10 years i have only used 1Cover, whatever happened i was always looked after and assured the cover will always be there if needed. I have noticed a increase in policy prices and recently the online policy extension has been removed :( hope this will be addressed quickly and it wouldn't hurt to add a discount for long term customers or when extending a policy...

Have used this company for our last few trips overseas. Had to make a claim on our last trip.
Just printed the form off, filledit out - but take the time to complete the form properly - and posted it off with the required papers. Received a phone call to clarify a few details. One particular item was not covered but 1Cover did give a gratuitous payment for the item. Money was deposited into our account very quickly and a letter was received detailing the amount paid.
Will definately take out cover with them again for our next trip overseas.

My camera was completely destroyed through an accident. I received claim payment within 2 weeks of arriving back in Australia. The payment was a little over 60% of the new value of camera and lens taking into account depreciation and an $100 excess. The claims process was simple and straightforward. But of course I did need proof of purchase and a camera technician's appraisal of my ruined equipment.

I recently travelled to the U.S.A. and I needed to see a doctor urgently - this was expensive just for a consultation (US$375). Fortunately I had 1Cover Travel Insurance. I put in a claim for the medical expenses when I came home and the claim was paid in full (less the excess) and promptly. This is consistent with my excellent previous experience with 1Cover - getting a cheap insurance that puts through through the hoops over claims is not worth the saving. I now always use 1Cover.

After getting sick in Thailand and ending up in hospital 5 years ago and insured with 1Cover we always use 1Cover. It was so easy and no problems at all. They even called the hospital / my room to make sure everything was ok! Would not go with another company.

I've been using 1Cover for my international (and some domestic) travel for years. Their customer service is fantastic, and I have never had an issue with a claim -- communication is clear, and approved claims are paid out promptly. Discounts for repeat customers!

I continue to buy travel insurance for the "what if" factor but never once have I been rewarded for my loyalty to 1Cover. Surely I should be eligible for a discount considering I buy travel insurance several times a year.

Got cover for trip to Fiji, cracked a tooth got it repaired claimed. Got a phone call and had to provide proof that the tooth was natural. If not you cannot claim, who being over 50 have all there own teeth natural, no filling or repairs. The cover was cheap and I suppose that what you pay for is what you get. Buyer beware.
