Unfortunately my father passed away suddenly just before I flew overseas. I took out full comprehensive insurance like I do every time over many, many, many years. There was a clause saying that the person had to be 85 years or younger for me to put a claim in. My father was 86 and very fit and heathy. Even though I did not use my insurance, they still didn't give me a refund. Rubbish 1Cover! This is not acceptable, you can at least refund the amount of my policy as I didn't even use it.

When purchasing comprehensive insurance it would be expected that it covers situations and accidents out of your contro (such as accidents with passport documents)
be careful !!!
This company will try and get out of any claim they can !! Very out of pocket and will ensure not only will I use them again but pass this onto travel websites/blogs and the ACCC about my experience

1Cover were brilliant. I was travelling South East Asia for a year so of course I needed travel insurance and of course I ran into a little bit of trouble. I talked to 1Cover online mostly but they were great. I was sick at one point and they would check up on me. A couple of times they actually organised appointments for me.

Hassle free travel insurance. Easy to take out on line including cover for pre-existing conditions. Unfortunately I was sick overseas and on returning home my claim was handled quickly and efficiently. I was notified of settlement of the claim within a few days of sending information, receipts & documentation to 1 Cover. I will definitely be using 1 Cover again.

2 damaged phones..due to being tossed around on floor of our cruise ship for 20 mins or so while caught in a storm. .not covered. Prescription glasses broken in the same event that apparently depreciate... don't understand how prescription glasses can depreciate.. can't replace them with the same or similar . should i purchase someone elses glasses second hand and use them?... what a joke.. after years of using your company and only claiming once i am extremely disappointed and angry. Will never use you again for any of our upcoming holidays.

We had a trip booked to Sri Lanka to plan our wedding, and unfortunately had to cancel due to the terrible terrorist incident. Our policy with 1Cover excluded coverage for terrorism, however I lodged a claim in the hopes that 1Cover would assess our application on its merits. 1Cover responded within a week and provided a full refund for our flights, for which we were extremely grateful. My interactions with their claims team was stress free, and I was 100% happy with their service.

When my daughter was hospitalised overseas 1Cover was extremely helpful and contactable at all hours! They were actually interested in our situation and did everything they could to help. They processed our claim for hospital costs and flight changes promptly, and fortunately everything turned out OK. I will use them every time!

Myself, my husband and three adult children fly to New Zealand a couple of times a year due to family in New Zealand. Every ticket we purchase we take out 1 Cover Travel insurance. We have never had to make a claim but in our most resent trip to NZ we all booked urgent tickets to be with my dying father and my kids Grandfather. Unfortunately my Adult son had to cancel his ticket from Sydney to Christchurch and re-book another ticket for a few days latter due to an urgent Business Meeting. When I called 1 Cover to see if they could help they were unable to help in any way.Very disappointing under the circumstances.

Unfortunately I got robbed on a recent holiday. It was upsetting but I felt better as I knew I had 1Cover travel insurance as I have used 1Cover maybe 15 times previously but never claimed. Got home and called 1Cover to lodge the claim but the guy I spoke to me made me feel like the criminal “ that sounds highly unlikely “ “ that sounds suspicious “ etc. As it wasn’t a lot of money and my glasses were a year old taking into account the excess I decided not to put the claim in and continue the bad experience. Won’t use 1Cover again
