I was happy with my transaction from the moment I purchased my travel insurance to the end of my claiming experience. Firstly I received a gift card for referring a friend which it is nice to be rewarded for referring friends to great companies like 1Cover.

Do not use this company (1Cover)!!
This was the first time I've ever tried to claim on insurance as I had my bag stolen from my feet in NYC and no surprise they found a way to get out of paying out. Apparently my bag was "unsupervised" as I wasn't watching it for 30 seconds while I paid the bill. Had to buy a new phone, jacket etc. all out of my own pocket.
I've heard it wasn't worth getting travel insurance as they'll always try get out of paying but unfortunately didn't believe it till it happened to me. I'm $2500 out of pocket + the cost of travel insurance (on every holiday I've been on).
Don't use this company!!

The claim assessor charges a new excess claim charge for each hospital visit relating to the same illness, which we believe it is unfair. Beside that, the customer service and assistance during the experience was very good.

Disappointed that I had to get a doctors report from overseas even though had all receipts. Paid amount minus excess when doctor replied it had privacy issues.
You don't get travel insurance before you go travelling and then hope to get sick while you are away. I would like to see a more simpler cover where you could choose what you want to be covered for.

I took out a domestic travel insurance after refusing the exuberant excess reduction from the car rental company. So easy to set up, completed registration while still at reception. Hit a kangaroo on the first day, and got an invoice for $1800. Sent a claims request when I got an invoice from the rental company. Swift claims process overall took about a week. I got paid in full for damages. No questions asked.

The customer service officer whom I have contacted clearly informed what are the documents to be submitted with the claim. Accordingly, I made my claim and the value was reimbursed within 12 days.
